Burnham-On-Sea, Somerset.

The weather was glorious all afternoon back home and as usual was pretty good when I left to pick up fellow photographers and friends Mike & Richard. The weather wasn’t bad when we arrived but it wasn’t inspiring either and looked  as if it was going to deteriorate and spoil our chances of a sunset.

The conditions were best when we first arrived and as expected the weather slowly closed in during our visit. I shot this using a Lee Filters 0.9 Hard Graduated filter combined with a Coral 6 Hard Graduated to add warmth to the image. I had to wait a while for the three figures to enter the frame as this gives the structure a sense of scale and additional interest.

  1. That’s a spectacular picture, beautifully done!

  2. An oft-photographed location, but a rather excellent take on it if I may say so. I really like the 3 bods and what is presumably a dog to the RHS.

  3. nice one mate better then mine

  4. Very nice Martyn, the people make the shot.

  5. The composition and processing make a good image Martyn. Was this the same dull grey evening I was with you?

  6. Ah this is great. The break in the clouds really makes this.
